In order to crochet the final product you need to know basic crochet techniques: single crochet, increase, chain, slip stitches, front/back loop only stitches, half double crochet, double crochet.

You can use any yarn you want just follow the same steps, using a thinner yarn your flower will be smaller and using a thicker yarn your flower will be bigger.
