This giant cupcake in mega chunky yarn makes a cute and cuddly cushion or foot rest. It is worked in one piece from the bottom upwards with one side seam to sew at the end. The bottom has a temporary closure so that you can remove the stuffing for washing or storage if needed.

Use a pair of 15mm / US size 19 needles - this cushion is worked straight, not in the round.

Mega chunky yarn eg King Cole Big Value Big 250g, or any yarn to fit this large needle size. Alternatively you can use 2 strands of a thinner yarn eg Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick n Quick, or Cygnet Seriously Chunky.

You will need one Mega chunky ball each of white and 2 contrasting colours. Or 2 balls each of a thinner yarn if you are double-stranding.

You will also need a pillowcase to serve as a liner, and stuffing of your choice eg the insides of an old pillow.

Finished size is approx 40cm/16in diameter and 25cm/10in high.
