Gauge:
We have two gauges for this vest/top. Please make your gauge at least 6 x 6 and measure your stitches over 4” for more accurate tension. Stitch and row count were measured after blocking.
Dc st - 15 sts x 7 rows measured over 4”
Hdc st - 13 sts x 9 rows in 4”
We work both swatches in rows and with a 5mm crochet hook and the strand of curio and aloft held together.
Notes:
Ch1 does not count as a stitch.
To begin the rows you can choose to work any alternate dc st; the two mentioned above or ch1 loosely and work your normal dc. If you decide to substitute ch’s for this beg dc please use 3 ch’s.
Please make sure to block your swatch.
When working the flower stitch, your skipped ch2 spaces should always line up.
Any changes made to the written pattern, including not meeting gauge will affect the amount of yarn needed to complete this project.
This project uses 2 strands of yarn held together. This allows the pattern to be flowy and airy.
The gauge of Curio and Aloft held together is similar to dk weight yarn. However depending on the fiber blend you choose your vest/top may not be as drapey.
To save on yarn you could crochet the foundation row on both the front and back panels in just the curio yarn.
