EGG COZY – FLOWER GNOME

Gnomes just in the winter or around Christmas? Of course not! The flower gnomes love the spring and the summer. Used as decoration they bring colors into your home, as egg cozies they keep your boiled eggs warm and cozy.
You can decorate them with crocheted leaves and flowers or use other items instead (flower-buttons, fake flowers etc.).

Great for using up some scrap yarn as well.

All steps are explained in detail in words and pictures, so this pattern is suitable for (practiced) beginners as well.
This pattern contains 11 pages of crochet instructions and 12 pages of detailed step-by-step instructions.

Used techniques (US crochet terms): magic ring, chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, increases and (invisible) decreases, crocheting in front loops and back loops – explained.
The figures are crocheted in continuous rounds/spirals as well as back and forth in rows.

With 3.0 mm hook and DK yarn or two strands of sport weight yarn the gnomes get to be 12 x 18 cm tall.

You need it smaller or bigger? No problem! Simply use lighter or heavier yarn. Standard sized eggs won‘t fit then anymore though.
