My Flower Market Neck Warmer was created to show off the fantastic bursts of color in this Malabrigo Rios worsted weight yarn.
This was a special skein of yarn that I bought at This is Knit, Dublin, Ireland, so it took me a while to commit to a project.

I had a few criteria in mind for this project:
Find a stitch that shows off the colors in the yarn
Make this a one-skein project
Use an embellishment and/or lace edging using simple crochet techniques.
Make an accessory that is usable every day and that would compliment many outfits
I think I succeeded.

Even though this is a project designed with a slip-stitch rib to showcase yarns with short color changes…..it can look amazing in a gradient yarn, a solid color or any worsted weight or Aran/bulky yarn of your choice.

Since writing the pattern for this neck warmer I purchased a skein of Noro Taiyo Aran weight yarn at Knit or Knot in Jupiter, FL. I just had to try it out with this pattern. One skein is enough, BUT I have adjusted the stitch counts and needle/hook size to make the neck warmer a 5” wide size.

The pattern download contains 2 separate pdf’s: one for the worsted weight and one for the Aran/bulky weight yarns.
