Flower Power Mittens
A pair of fun, funky, floral motif colorwork mittens, worked using stranded/Fair Isle technique, with two colors of Malabrigo Yarn’s Arroyo sportweight. The mittens are knit in the round, beginning at the cuffs where a corrugated ribbing is knit. They are then worked from the cuff upward, with a gusset thumb. This pattern is suitable for knitters with a bit of experience reading charts and working stranded knitting, but can be tackled with a bit of patience by less experienced knitters.
Techniques used:
Stranded knitting.
Chart reading.
Increases and decreases to shape thumb gusset and top of mittens.
Knitting in the round on double-pointed needles.
The cowl and mittens set can be knit with a single skein of each of the colors. The sample is knit in Black and English Rose.
This pattern is being sold as part of a set with the matching Flower Power Mittens.
