This project is made using simple garter stitch and seed stitch. Candy stripes at each end of the scarf adds interest to the understated pattern.

The felt flowers are attached to lengths of crochet thread which are knitted in as you make the scarf so there aren’t hundreds of loose ends to sew in. Crochet thread is used because it it very fine but very strong and comes in many colours and finishes.

Felt flowers were used but spots would look good too. Please bear in mind that you will be washing this scarf so expect the shapes to shrink and felt a little more, giving a softer, slightly uneven, handmade look. Felt shapes are easy to find online and are cheap to purchase. Many online suppliers will make custom mixes of colours for you as well.

The chosen yarn comes in many different colours and is soft to wear making it ideal for children and teenagers.
