Chase the chill of spring with a snug beanie in seasonal cotton and acrylic yarn. Simple and quick - you can have this knitted up in an hour or two!

Worsted weight yarn, like Berroco “Weekend” and Lion Brand “Cotton Ease” offer pretty colors in easy care blends. This hat is a perfect “one skein” project, and the cute flower can be made from a few yards of a fun color in your stash - plus a single special button.

Like other nonstop knits hat patterns, this one utilizes seamless construction on circular needles. Hold two strands of worsted yarn together and knit on 16” size 10.5 or size necessary to achieve 3 stitch per inch gauge. Alternatively, one strand of a bulky yarn could be substituted. Size 9 needles used for the cast on and ribbing edge. Double points may be used for decreases at top of hat. Flower knit with one strand worsted yarn on size 5 needle.

To knit a solid color hat, you begin by dividing your skein into two balls of equal size. Then you knit with one strand from each ball.

The flower pattern can be used in other ways as well: attach a pin to the back and wear it as a corsage, decorate a felted purse or adorn knitted cup cozy!
