I was asked by a friend to write her a pattern for a super bulky ribbed hat which she could make for herself and her children. It only took a morning to make and I decided to write the pattern to actual measurements so she could decide which size would best fit the kids. The shaping works cleverly in to the ribbing and the hat is worked in the round, so that it can easily be lengthened to include a turn-back brim. A home made pompom can be used for a more homely effect, but this fake fur one from Rico looks so pretty I couldn’t resist!
