Bunny’s head and body are crocheted in one piece; their arms, legs, ears and tail are crocheted separately and sewn on.

Difficulty: Bunny easy to crochet, but due to the texture of the yarn, this project may be better for intermediate to experienced crocheters. (You cannot see your stitches, you must be able to find them with your fingers - the recommended hook size should allow for this.) Techniques involved: single crochets, increasing in single crochets, decreasing in single crochets.

All necessary sewing involved is easy, the yarn’s texture completely hides your stitches. Two different options given for ear lining: a crocheted lining (easy sewing) or a ribbon lining (requires some sewing experience).

Step-by-step instructions (with pictures) are provided for embroidering the nose.

Finished height (using suggested materials): approximately 28cm (11 inches)

Materials:

  • Bernat Pipsqueak - 1 ball in main body colour (100g, 109m/120 yds)

  • Bernat Pipsqueak - pink (small amount) OR pink ribbon approx. 4cm/1.5” wide (for lining ears)

  • 2 10mm black safety eyes

  • Pink yarn or embroidery floss (small amount for nose)

  • Sewing thread (to match main colour)

  • 7mm crochet hook

  • Stitch markers (optional)

  • Sewing needle(s) (preferably a long one for attaching limbs, ears and tail. If lining ears with ribbon, you may want a finer/shorter sewing needle for that as well.)

  • Blunt needle (for weaving in ends)

  • Sharp darning needle (for embroidering nose)

  • Pins (optional, for holding pieces in place when sewing)
