FLUFFY Cat Sweater
FLUFFY is inspired by the image of a cat with long, luxurious fur, like a Norwegian Forest Cat or Maine Coon, perfectly equipped to brave the coldest winter days. Unfortunately, my little Marcy isn’t so lucky – her lack of coat doesn’t quite provide the same warmth. That’s why I designed this sweater: to help her stay just as cozy as her long-haired cousins during the chilly season. The sweater is designed to have an oversized fit, ensuring it covers your kitty’s entire body when they’re sitting down, keeping them warm and snug.
Construction:
The sweater is worked top down, starting at the Neck. After working the Neck ribbing in the round, you’ll begin increases for the Yoke. The Yoke is further shaped using short rows before dividing the Chest and Back for the “armholes”. Then you’ll rejoin and work in the round for the Belly. Finally, you will cast off the Belly stitches and work the Tail flat. Optionally, you can add sleeves at the end to complete the look.
Materials:
US size 9/5.5 mm, 60”/100 cm circular needles if using magic loop, otherwise 5 double pointed needles (DPNs)
Stitch Markers, Tapestry Needle, Scissors
