The pattern calls for worsted weight #4 yarn and an E hook.

Dimensions of the bunny with Caron Simply Soft yarn and a E hook: approximately 3 1/2 inches (8.9 cm) wide, 7 inches (17.8 cm) long and approximately 3 inches (7.6 cm) tall . For a smaller bunny I would recommend using #3 yarn and a D hook.

Using Red Heart, ILTY and other thicker worsted weight #4 yarns will make the bunny bigger. To help keep it from getting too big, I do recommend using an F hook when using these yarns.
