Die Fluke Socks haben einen breiten Musterstreifen auf der Vorderseite. Die Muster sind als Chart dargestellt.
Die Ferse ist eine Bumerangferse mit zusätzlichem Spickel, damit sich das Muster an der Ferse nicht verzieht und sie besser sitzt. Sie ist auch für einen hohen Spann geeignet. Ich verwende eine besonders einfache Version der Doppelmaschen.

Ich habe die Socken für 56, 60, 64 und 68 Maschen berechnet.

Besonderheit des Exmooor Sock Garns: Im Vergleich zu herkömmlichen Sockengarnen mit 75/25 Zusammensetzung und superwash-Behandlung ist dieses Garn mit nur 10% Nylon-Anteil und weniger intensiver superwash-Behandlung ein wenig empfindlicher. Das bedeutet, daß ich es mit kleinerer Nadelstärke (hier 2 mm) verstrickt habe, um das Gestrick fester und haltbarer zu machen. Außerdem wasche ich die Socken im Wollprogramm mit Wollwaschmittel bei nur 30 Grad. So sind sie ähnlich haltbar wie Socken aus herkömmlichen Sockengarnen.
Der Vorteil dieses Garnes besteht darin, daß es relativ naturbelassen ist und noch die Eigenschaften natürlicher Wolle besitzt. Die Socken fühlen sich wärmer an und der Temperaturausgleich funktioniert wesentlich besser als bei stark behandelter Wolle, die durch den höheren Kunstfaser- Anteil und die superwash-Ausrüstung einen Teil ihrer natürlichen Eigenschaften verliert.
Natürlich kannst Du die Fluke Socks aus jedem anderen Sockengarn stricken und die dazu passende Nadelstärke verwenden.

The Fluke Socks have a wide pattern stripe on the front. The patterns are shown as a chart. The heel is a short row heel with an additional gusset so that the pattern on the heel does not stretch and fits better. It is also suitable for a high instep. I use a particularly simple version of the double stitches.

Special feature of Exmooor sock yarn: Compared to conventional sock yarns in 75/25 composition and superwash- treatment this yarn is a little more delicate with only 10% nylon content and less intensive superwash treatment. This means that I knitted it with a smaller needle size (here 2 mm) to make the fabric tighter and more durable. I also wash the socks in the wool program with wool detergent at just 30 degrees. This makes them just as durable as socks made from conventional sock yarns.
The advantage of this yarn is that it is relatively natural and still has the properties of natural wool. The socks feel warmer and the temperature balance works much better than with heavily treated wool, which loses some of its natural properties due to the higher proportion of synthetic fibers and the superwash finish.
Of course, you can knit the Fluke Socks from any other sock yarn and use the appropriate needle size.
