This pair of socks is worked cuff-down, featuring a heel-flap and gusset, and toes grafted with kitchener stitch. It is suitable for knitters who are experienced in colourwork.

The design brings together my love of various crafts, as the colourwork pattern on the leg was inspired by my favourite patchwork design - flying geese. Whatever craft project I am making, I always love the challenge of using up oddments, making the most of every last scrap, and I find satisfaction in turning things that could have been discarded into something beautiful and useful. As this design features a colourwork panel and contrast ribbing and toe, it could easily be knitted using oddments, mini skeins and scraps of yarn from your stash to work the different sections. The pattern includes a table listing the yardages required for each individual section of the socks, to enable you to use mini skeins or oddments of yarn from your stash if desired.
