Flying Hearts Socks are knit toe up featuring lace work and donut cables, Judy’s Magic Cast On toe, and options for plain or reinforced heel. Lace and cables make the sock fabric stretchy. Directions are for adult woman’s socks size small and medium, equivalent to a fit for shoe sizes US 6-7 (EU 36-37) and US 7.5-8 (EU 38-39). Lace pattern is in chart format only. This pattern assumes knitting experience and ability to read knitting charts.

SIZING
Small, 68 stitches, foot circumference partially stretched 7.5 inch (19 cm); Medium, 76 stitches, 8.5 inch (22 cm); equivalent to woman’s shoe sizes US 6-7 (8-9), EU 36-37 (38-39).

MATERIALS
Yarn: Size Medium about 400 yds (366 m) fingering weight yarn; sample knit with St Denis Boreale, 100% wool, 225 yds (206 m)/50g, color Chalk Blue.
Needles: Sample was knit on 2 circular needles, 16 inch (41 cm), size US 0 (2.00 mm). Pattern could be worked on double points and with any needle size to obtain gauge.
Other: Darning needle for weaving in ends, 3 closed stitch markers

GAUGE
9.5 stitches, 12.5 rows per inch (2.54 cm) with Size US 0 (2.00 mm) needles and fingering weight yarn in stockinette stitch.
