It may be getting close to time to migrate for winter, but the geese on this ski hat are heading north instead of south!
Quilters will recognize the triangle pattern of this hat as the flying geese unit frequently used in a quilt. In this hat, the geese are heading north with a ribbing section separating each unit in the row. Rick-rack rib starts the hat off with interesting detail, while a pom-pom balances out the back end.
- Sizes - Adult S (16”), M (19”), L (22.5”) with 1”-2” of ease
- The sample hat (size M) took about 114 yards to make. I used my remaining yarn for the pom-pom - about 24 yards or so. You could make the pom-pom bigger or leave it off all together.
- My head is 22”, so the size M is a bit small for me, but wearable.
- If you want it slouchy, you could make it longer. I’d suggest at least one more full repeat of the pattern. (Don’t forget to account for extra yarn needed.)
- Stitch pattern is a repeat of 16 stitches.
- Stitch pattern is written only.
