Sizing

Since this is a amigurumi, the size is more or less up to the yarn/ hook size you decide to use. I used yarn with a recommended hook size of 4mm to 5mm. Using the same hook is important to make sure all the pieces are correctly sized. If you want a smaller one, use smaller yarn and a smaller hook. Want a bigger one? Use bigger yarn and a bigger hook.

Yarn Amount

How much yarn do you need for this project? I don’t know. I have made two and still have not run out of my orange yarn, which I had already used a considerably amount of making pumpkins! I don’t believe you need too much overall, but don’t think you’ll be able to make the whole fox using just scrap yarn.

Weighted Fox

My fox is also weighted, because he was made to be apart of a decor, so the weight makes it easier for him to sit and not move!

Dimensions

Using a 4mm hook with yarns in that relative size, my fox’s dimensions are:

  • Length: 3 in
  • Width: 6.25 in (w/ tail)
  • Height: 7.5 in

This is a list of all the necessary materials for this pattern:

  • Yarn Bee Yarntopia “Rust” 4 oz, 312 yards (Main color)
  • Yarn Bee Bamboo-tiful “White” 4 oz, 257 yards (Secondary color 2)
  • Yarn Bee Smooth Move “Black” 3.5 oz, 270 yards (color 3)
  • Yarn Bee Yarntopia “Rose” 4 oz, 312 yards (color 4)
  • 4mm/G-6 crochet hook
  • Row Counter (you can use a notepad to tally but I would recommend a counter such as this one: Digital Row Counter from Hobby Lobby)
  • 8mm Safety Eyes
  • Scissors
  • Stitch Markers (I just like to use a piece of scrap yarn, but having some for sewing later will be handy)
  • Darning Needle
  • Poly-fil FiberFill 12 oz
  • Stuffing Tool (I highly recommend having something that will help you stuff some of the smaller pieces. Mine is just a wooden stick that comes with poly-fil)
  • Optional: Pet Brush (I used this to brush out the tail)
  • Optional: Poly-Pellets or pantyhose & rice to create a weighted bottom (preferred method)
