Fog Whisperer Cardigan
“The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco.”
-Mark Twain
When one ventures out to the western beaches of San Francisco, they are wise to bring a layer or two. The Fog Whisperer Cardigan is a thin but warm cabled cardigan meant to be thrown over your outfit right before venturing into the cold fog that clings to San Francisco shores. Wrap your body up with delicate cables and a ribbed shawl collar as you stand on the tall sand dunes to watch the fog roll into the Golden Gate.
The Fog Whisperer Cardigan is worked from the bottom-up. Simple 2x2 ribbing makes up the hem while a stretchy fog-like cable pattern fills in the body. Long sleeves are knit in-the-round in fitted stockinette and finished with 2x2 ribbing that can be folded over for a 3/4” sleeve look. Last but not least, stitches are picked up for the neckband which is shaped with German Short Rows to create a fashionable shawl collar.
