Fogarty Creek Blazer
A welcome companion for rambles through forests or city streets! The Fogarty Creek Blazer is a delicate marriage of structure and softness, paving the way for infinite pairings and possibilities. This elegant, yet rustic blazer features princess shaping and a fold-down collar which add a tailored finish. The set in sleeves are knit identically and worked in the round up to the sleeve cap, then worked flat to the top. The sleeve cuffs also have a built in purled turning round to create a hemmed finish. The body is worked flat in one piece to the armscyes, then worked separately up to the shoulders for the front and back. Cleverly placed seed stitch panels are used to create the gentle curve of the bottom edge of the blazer. The button band is worked with the body and increased to form the lapel, while the collar is a separate piece sewn to the neckline in seed stitch and decreased at the edges to form a gentle curve. Finally, the Forgarty Creek Blazer is finished off with a crochet chain around the edges of the collar and button bands, while hook-and-eye closures are sewn to the underside of the button band and decorative buttons are attached to the outside.
Notions: 5-7 decorative ¾” buttons; 2 yards of 1” wide Grosgrain Ribbon; 5-7 sew-on wide hook & eye closures; Sewing needle and thread. Optional: Thin shoulder pads
