This cocky but cute looking rooster will be approximately 10 inches/20.5cm high when completed and free standing on his big yellow feet.
Complete with his little bag on a stick containing all his worldly goods, he is set for all the new adventures he will find as he charms his way into homes all over the world.
A fun easy to follow pattern which includes many helpful picture to guide you through all the making up steps to ensure you are delighted with the finished toy.
Here is a list of the materials needed
You can use any DK/8ply yarns but I have included the exact ones I used.
Less than 50g Hayfield bonus DK Gala green(704)
Less than 25g Hayfield bonus DK Signal red (977)
Less than 25g Hayfield bonus DK Sunflower (978)
Less than 50g Hayfield bonus DK White (961)
Scrap of black DK
A pair of 3mm needles (use throughout the pattern)
A Pair of 8 mm black beads (optional)
A Pair 10mm buttons of your choice (optional)
Twig or wooden skewer
Scrap of material for bag
Fibrefill
Here is a list of the abbreviations used
PLEASE READ
k = knit
p = purl
k2tog/p2tog = knit/purl the next
two stitches together (decreases 1
st)
Ss = stockinet stitch (knit one row,
purl one row)
st/sts = stitch/stitches
inc1 = (increase) by knitting into
front and back of same stitch.
PLEASE NOTE: if you use any other
method of increasing, your stitch
count may not work out.
Turn = work the stated amount of stitches then ignoring the un-worked stitch – turn your work around and work back over the stitches you just knitted.
