Foghar Shawl Knitting Pattern.

Foghar means “autumn” in Scottish Gaelic. This shawl is the perfect autumn companion, both as a simple, yet rewarding knitting project and stunning finished garment.

Foghar is an asymmetrical shawl, knitted back and forth on straight needles, worked from end to end. Increases are worked along one side and decreases along the other to create asymmetrical point. The body length can be adjusted to suit your own preferences.

Size: the finished shawl is 18 inches (46 cm) wide and 116 inches (280 cm) long (you can alter the length).

Yarn: Jamiesons of Scotland Spindrift - 300g. Or any fingering yarn that meets the gauge.

Gauge: 32 stitches and 34 rows =4 in/10cm in garter stitch (after blocking)

Needles: 3.75mm straight needles (or circular to accommodate large amount of stitches)
