Description: This shawl was designed spontaneously without planning the whole design out first. Each section is a result of a spur of the moment decision that still results in a balanced design. Featuring stripes, a lace pattern and an i-cord bind off, this is an interesting and diverse pattern. Worked without short rows, the shape of the shawl is achieved by increasing two stitches every row.
Needle Size: 3.75 mm/US 5 and 4 mm/US 6 circular needles (at least 120 cm/47”). Or needle size to obtain gauge.
Yarn: Tamar (4-ply; 100 % Pure New Wool, 100g – 350 m/380 yds), 1 skein each of shade A: Kensey and shade B: Gwindra.
Notions: 2 stitch markers, tapestry needle.
Gauge (after blocking) with smaller needles: In garter stitch: 18 sts and 44 rows = 10 cm/4”; in lace pattern: 18 sts and 36 rows = 10 cm/4”, in stockinette: 18 sts and 36 sts rows = 10 cm/4”.
