Foglie Nascoste - tam

This pattern is based on a geometrical floral motif that I have been drawing since childhood. When I half-shifted the repeat, against a light green (Stockiemuir) background I found a surprising leafy pattern stood out more than the original floral motif. “Foglie Nascoste“ means “hidden leaves” in Italian.

32 stitches and 36 rounds to 10cm / 4in over stranded colourwork in the round on gauge size needle(s)
Use 3mm needle(s) as a starting point for swatching.

To fit adult head with 51-53.5cm / 20-21in circumference

Pattern notes
This neatly-fitting tam is worked from bottom to top. After the corrugated rib brim, the tam body is worked in stranded colourwork.
