This shawl was borne out of a yarn crush that I was nurturing at my LYS, Dappled Fern Fibers. I love knitting patterns that tell a story and The Farmer’s Daughters dyes are soulful and saturated. You can’t walk by a stack of Juicy DK without squishing it. And once you pick it up, you’ll find that the yarn’s label starts the story for you. With names like “Meet Me Tonight in Atlantic City” and “Patsy” (Cline, I imagine), you can’t help but start to imagine a road trip and some mischief on the horizon. The color story that I chose for my shawl was just the antidote that I needed to chase away Northern Minnesota’s dark, cold You’re gonna want to pick out four colors that are just what you need; maybe to remember this season in your life, or maybe to get away… You’ll find the stitch pattern easy to learn and repeat. This yarn grows when blocked so you get ultimate bang for your buck from blocking.

This is a great pattern to use to learn how to “read your knitting”. If you look at your sts, you can see when to add a new slipped stitch column. Each time you begin a six row repeat, take a look ahead on your needles to see where the new slipped stitch column will lie.
