Foli Douce
Named for a famous après-ski hangout in Val d’Isère, the Folie Douce Toque is a fun, squishy hat with bright bubbles of colour. Perfect for off-piste shenanigans or an urban landscape, the endless colour options suit every personality.
PATTERN NOTES
The Party of Five colours are assigned as: CC1-Shoreline, CC2-West Wind, CC3-Sourpuss, and CC4-Orchid.
With the yarn held double throughout, this hat is worked in the round from the bottom up, with the Bubble Pop pattern forming
a gradient to a final burst of colour. It is topped off with as big a pom pom as you can handle!
There is no stranded colourwork involved. Rather, the contrasting bubbles are worked in stripes with the main colour and made to
pop by dropping down to the main colour row below, picking up and knitting that stitch. This makes the bubbles pop out and creates the texture of the hat. Plus they’re fun!
The pattern uses an Alternating Cable Cast On, but you can use any stretchy cast on you wish.
