Folia Triangle is the third design in my La Folia Collection, which showcases the possibilities of a simple leafy lace stitch contrasting with garter stitch, and strong geometric shapes.

Knit from the bottom point up, and using stitch markers to mark the boundary between the lace and surrounding garter stitch, Folia Triangle is a fairly straightforward knit with just a few rows requiring special attention. Its panel of lace is simple enough to suit speckled or semi-solid sock yarn.

Two size options are given: a large cosy wrap and a smaller shawl. Customising the size is as simple as changing the number of repeats in the final section.

Skills needed include basic lace knitting, and working an i-cord bind off. Choose between fully written instructions or a combination of charted + written instructions.

Materials: 2 skeins of Circus Tonic Handmade Revelry Sock (80% merino, 20% nylon; 409yds/374m per 100g) in ‘Zebra Finch’, or 467 (815) yards / 427 (748) metres of fingering-weight yarn.

Sizing: S (L), shown in L. The size can be easily altered by working a different number of 6-row pattern repeats in Section D.

Finished measurements, relaxed after blocking:
73 (88)” / 186 (224)cm wingspan,
16.5 (24)” / 42 (61)cm depth.
