Add a little cosiness and fantasy to your winter by knitting this sweet little hood.

I designed it to be beautiful and practical – whether you’re going for a snowy walk in the woods or out around town, this hood will keep the wind off your ears and leave you feeling snuggly.

It’s unisex and would look great in a range of DK yarn.

Techniques
Watch my YouTube video (link in the pattern) for guidance on the main techniques you’ll use to make your hood:

  • Long tail cast on
  • Picking up stitches
  • Increases and decreases
  • My version of 2x2 tubular cast off
  • Blocking

Sizes

Size 1, (2), and 3: to fit head circumferences of 50-55cm, (53-60cm), and 58-64cm

Fit notes

I’ve spent time making sure the shaping nicely fits the contour around the back of the head, and covers enough of the top of your head to feel cosy, without completely covering the hairline.

The sizes are rough recommendations, based on a slightly fitted hood. You can choose to size up if you’d prefer your hood to have extra room.
