I am always interested in traditional style knitting.. and Peruvian hat is one of them. Since I never going there, I try to make one by looking at images you can easily find on Google. I already made this pattern several times, I hope there’s no error and everyone can follow the instructions.

Remember that your yarn preference also important in making this hat. For example, The hats I made came in 2 different sizes of hats just because the yarns I used slightly different in diameter, although I used same needle’s size.

Difficulty: Intermediate.

Even the stitches used are the easy ones, you have to understand knitting in round, pick up, and already familiar with written/picture instructions. The crochet stitch used is only HDC (half double crochet), the one usually used to make edging on knitting.

I made this hat in 1 size: adult.

Change the yarn weight and needle size if you want to make different size of this hat

The samples knitted in DK weight yarn in 4 mm (US6) knitting needle.
The yellow one knitted using Aran weight yarn in 5 mm.

What you need are = DK weight yarns in at least 2 colors, a crochet needle in suitable size.
