In Robin Hobb’s 16-book series-within-a-series, the Fool remains a central character throughout, though he goes by several guises depending on what the situation needs him to be. At first, he is simply The Fool, wearing his Fool’s motley to entertain King Shrewd and his guests. Later, he becomes Lord Golden, a wealthy, immaculately dressed nobleman of the court. This reversible cowl gives you the opportunity to wear the Fool’s motley for a bit of fun or Lord Golden’s brocade for a more elegant look.

The patterns are simple mosaic stitch patterns, so no knitting or color gymnastics are involved. Even in fingering weight, you will be warm wearing this accessory. The cowl is quadruple warm because the Fool is always cold and needs extra layers. Both patterns are double-warm due to the mosaic patterns and then they are folded to give reversibility and another double layer of warmth. This is a beautifully patterned cowl for cold weather.
