Pattern features a graph for the puzzle pieces and written instructions for the brim and the crown.
Color work is Fair Isle style, and the choice of colors will dictate how the pieces show up--go solid for dramatic effect, or gradient for effect like the hat in the picture.
Latvian braids really look good with the design, but are not necessary. Instructions for Latvian braid are not included. There are many good videos on youtube for this technique.
This hat was worked on circular needles, but knitters can use double points or magic loop--whatever method preferred.
