A 2-color garter stitch triangular shawl featuring a lace border and highlighted (embroidered) ladders!

THE STORY
Based on the shape and combination of stitches from my ‘For the Love of Garter V1.0’ shawl, this version uses 2 colors and has a more consistent stitch pattern throughout. Add on a picot border and highlighted ladder sts? I think I’m in love!

MATERIALS

  • Tôt le Matin Yarns Tôt Sport (sport weight; 100% superwash merino wool; 328 yds/ 300 m per 3.5 oz / 100g), 3 skeins total: MC - 2 skeins ‘Soft’; CC - 1 skein ‘Gump’
  • US 6 (4 mm) 32” / 80 cm circular needle (or length preferred for comfort)
  • Locking/removable stitch marker (optional)
  • Ring stitch markers (14)
  • Row counter (optional, recommended)
  • Tapestry needle

60” / 152.5 cm width along neckline edge; 25” / 63.5 cm depth from neckline edge to center point

NOTES

  • This triangular shawl is worked sideways from the cast on point to the bound off long edge, with the longest edge being the neckline of the shawl.
  • Written instructions are provided for the entirety of the shawl. Charted instructions are provided for the Body of the shawl following the Setup section. The Border of the shawl is not charted. Note that the charted instructions vary graphically from the written instructions. Work from the written instructions for the Cast On & Setup Sections, then the remainder of the shawl may be worked from the charts with the exception of the Border and Bind Off.
  • Adjust needle size as necessary to match gauge.
