This is a free pattern designed for myself. I’ve knit both versions but the pattern has not been tech edited or test-knit which is why it’s free.

Any fingering yarn can be used, the animals are suited for scrap yarn from your stash. I used Dirty Water Dyeworks and Explorer Knits scraps.

There are 2 patterns included - a complicated version and a more simple version. For each version there are 2 charts - one of forest animals and one of dinosaurs.

The cowl is stranded colorwork knit in the round using a provisional cast-on and grafting to join. Each section uses between 3 and 5 colors. The details on the animals are done with duplicate stitch or embroidery. It can be knit using either a four or five pattern repeat depending on the desired width.

Hope it’s a fun knit for you!
