The Forest Berry Skirt is designed from the elegant skirt-silhuette of the 1930s, which was both feminine and practical.
It’s knit with decorative forest berries running around the hem and up the front, and a fake buttoning. It also has pockets!
The skirt is knit in the round, from the bottom upwards.
It’s designet to wear with a belt, as the recommended yarn, Pickles Merino Tweed, is not very elastic and needs to be kept in place at the waist.
It is very light and airy, and perfect for spring and summer.
It can also be knit in beautiful Pickles Pure Wool.
You’ll loose the gorgeous tweed effect of the yarn, but gain elasticity and you can therefore use it without a belt.
This yarn is also warmer, and will work beautifully for an autumn and winter version

Needles: 3mm and 4mm

Note on size – the skirt has some intended ease, and can be worn easily and comfortably with hips up to 8cm larger than the measurements above. Pictures is a size M on 102cm hips.

Gauge: 23m = 10cm.

NOTE ON AVAILABLE SIZES - Sizes 2xl & 3xl have not been testknit. If you wish to knit any of those sizes please drop me a message and I’ll send it to you free of charge!

The only reason it is not available in larger sizes is I couldn’t get testknitters for those sizes, and I don’t want anyone to pay for a pattern and knit a size thats not been tested.
