Using cosy Aran weight/worsted/10-ply yarn, these two hats are perfect for the whole family, with a folded brim that gives extra warmth where you need it most. The pattern is suitable for any yarn with a manufacturer’s recommended gauge of 18sts and 24 rows using 5mm needles such as King Cole Fashion Aran, Caron Simply Soft, Milla Mia Naturally Soft Aran and Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran amongst others. The instructions come in five sizes: X-Small, Small, Medium, Large and X-Large which will fit baby to adult size heads.

There is choice of two stitch patterns and the option to add a pom-pom.

Skills Required: knitting in the round, knit and purl stitches, yf and yb, ssk, k2tog and p2tog (or ssp) decreases.

Gauge for the Purl Ridge Hat should be 18sts to 10cm using 4mm needles (UK 8/US 6)

Gauge for the Open check Stitch Hat should be 18sts to 10cm using 5mm needles (UK 6/US 8).
