At the time I wrote this pattern, the sky in our town is full of smoke from the many nearby fires burning. at sunset, the sky is orange with the smoke as the winds sweep the smoke away after a long hot day. The green trim is the new growth hoped for after a fire from last season.

The gauge is not really important in this scarf, as the blocking will change it.
