This hat with its folded up brim is a beautiful accessory! The basic color of the hat shines through the eyelet pattern of the brim.
And the Forest Flickers hat is not even difficult to knit. It is worked in the round in one piece. For the fold-up brim of slightly thicker yarn (DK, US needle size 8) approximately 25 g suffice, so you could use leftover yarn from other knitting projects. For the rest of the hat you need 1 ball of 50 g of a soft, smooth yarn (Sport, US needle size 2.5).
This pattern is suited for the common methods of “knitting in the round”, with a set of double pointed needles or circular knitting needle(s). These methods are not described in this pattern.
The eyelet pattern is divided in a way that you can use a set of 5 DPNs, i.e. no yarn-overs at the beginning or the end of a double pointed needle.

Finished dimensions (after hand wash and drying):
Height (bottom to top of the hat with folded-up brim): 9,5“ (24 cm)
Circumference at bottom edge: 18“ (46 cm)

Diese Mütze mit ihrem hochgeklappten Rand ist ein wunderschönes Accessoire! Durch das Lochmuster des Rands schimmert die Grundfarbe der Mütze hindurch.
Und dabei ist die Forest Flickers Mütze nicht einmal schwierig zu stricken. Sie ist in einem Stück in Runden gestrickt. Für den Rand aus etwas dickerem Garn (DK, gestrickt mit Nadelstärke 5 mm) reichen ca. 25 g, also ein halbes Knäuel. Dafür kann man auch übrig gebliebene Garnreste von anderen Strickprojekten verwenden. Für den anderen Teil der Mütze braucht man 1 Knäuel à 50 g eines weichen, glatten Garns (Sport, Nadelstärke 3 - 3,5 mm).
Die Anleitung ist für die gängigen Methoden des „In-Runden-Strickens“ geeignet, klassisch mit Nadelspiel oder Rundstricknadel(n). Die verschiedenen Methoden sind hier nicht beschrieben.
Das Lochmuster ist so aufgeteilt, dass man mit einem Nadelspiel arbeiten kann, d.h. keine Umschläge am Anfang oder Ender einer Nadel des Nadelspiels.
