Forest Flower Mitts
This pattern for fingerless mitts by Nancy Bush is one of six patterns available in the Fall 2011 issue of ColorKnits, a revolutionary digital eMag from Interweave. These mitts feature individually placed Roositud motifs, an inlay technique traditionally used on Estonian stockings and gloves. On gloves, the inlay patterns can be seen on the back of the hand, often up the backs of the fingers and also on the thumb. This style of glove was probably meant for festive wear, weddings, or church-going. It adds a traditional accent to these modern fingerless mitts.
