Forest Frenzy Infinity Cowl
Thank you for having a look at my latest design! And to celebrate the release I’d love to offer 20% off the pattern using code: frenzy20
Code is valid until end of day Wednesday, July 6.
Forest Frenzy is an infinity cowl, designed to showcase the Frenzy gradient yarn from GingerSnap.
The cowl starts with a provisional cast on, is worked entirely in the round, and is grafted together. A perfect, light weight, double wrap infinity cowl. All stranded work hidden inside, so no snagging! Lots of easy relaxing stockinette, punctuated by two fun colourwork charts.
A fun, relaxing knit and just the thing for showing off those gradient skeins.
Skills Required
Provisional cast-on, working in the round, stranded colourwork knitting, kitchener/grafting stitch.
Materials
Sample Yarn Used:
1 x 94g/350yds skein, Gingersnap, Puffy Fingering, 80/20 SW Merino/Nylon, in the colour Pink Lemonade Frenzy (C1).
1 x 110g/420yds skein, Gingersnap, Zest Fingering, 80/20 SW Merino/Nylon, in the colour Onyx (C2).
Yardage: The cowl uses the entire skein of Frenzy (C1) so that we can show the whole colour shift. Approx. 350 yds of C2 is used.
Suggested Needles:
3.25mm/US 1.5, 40cm/16” length solid stockinette stitch sections OR size(s) needed to obtain gauge. Plus a second circular needle, in the same size, for doing the kitchener stitch.
3.75mm/US , 40cm/16” length for the stranded colourwork sections OR size(s) needed to obtain gauge.
Notions:
Crochet hook for provisional cast on, smooth contrast yarn for provisional cast on, 4 stitch markers, darning needle.
Gauge:
26sts and 36 rounds/10cm or 4”, in the round, in solid stockinette stitch.
26sts and 30 rounds/10cm or 4”, in the round, in stranded colourwork.
Size/Measurements:
The cowl is 6”/15cm wide, and 53”/135cm long after blocking. The length is easily modified by adding or subtracting rounds in the solid stockinette sections. Width can easily be modified by adding or subtracting pattern repeats. Please note: yarn requirements will change when modifying.
