Forest Grove Shawl
The first signs of autumn come with the crunch of leaves and the perfume of woodsmoke. For all the virtues of the other seasons, fall is quite possibly the most spectacular in the way it floods the world with a certain familiar ambience. I love the way the air snaps gently against your skin, practically begging for an extra layer of wool. In my nod to autumn, Forest Grove has intriguing (but simple) details that partner eyelets, texture and stripes for a winning combination.
Beginning at the top center point and worked side to side in a crescent shape with increases on both the right side and wrong side rows (at the edges), your shawl will grow quickly in width without adding bulk to the body. You’ll alternate sections of texture with stripes to keep things interesting along the way.
