Forest Leaves
I love leaves! I’m passionate about them, in the nature as well as on knits. So here’s one more item including one of my favourite patterns!
I worked on this pullover during my vacations; by the lake-side in a fairly remote area of Sweden. Everywhere I looked there were trees. They leaves in so many different shapes and shades of green made me feel so calm! Now I am back in town, but the pullover will remind me of that lovely lake-side knitting.
Sizes
The measurements are finished measurements.
I worked size 2 to give a positive ease of approximately 15 cm/6”.
I do recommend 5 - 15 cm/2 - 6” of positive ease.
Sizes 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9/10/11: 89/96/104/111/118/125/132/140/147/154/162 cm = 35/37.5/41/43.75/46.5/49/52/55/58/61/63.75”.
Materials
Yarn: I used “Tukuwool Fingering”, in the colourway “Selja”, from titityy, to work my top. This fingering weight yarn in Finnish wool, comes in skeins of 50 gr/1.76 oz and 195 m/213 yards. You will need approximately 925/975/1050/1125/1200/1275/1350/1450/1550/1650/1800 m = 1010/1065/1145/1230/1310/1390/1475/1580/1690/1800/1970 yards of this specific yarn to work the top. Important note: Tukuwool Fingering is listed as a fingering weight yarn. I think it is difficult to compare with other fingering weight yarns as the fabric achieved is rather loose. If you want to work the sweater in another yarn-quality I recommend that you look at the gauge rather than the yarn weight. Needles 3.5 mm/US4 (or size to obtain gauge)
Notions 2 removable stitch-markers, separate holders, blunt tapestry needle, blocking tools.
Gauge
22 sts and 32 rows in double moss-st pattern (as well as the lace-pattern and the textured pattern on the sleeves).
Construction
Please note that the centred pattern is extended on the larger sizes, meaning that it will cover most of the front for all sizes.
The pullover is worked bottom-up and in-the-round to the underarms, where work is divided for upper back and upper front to be continued in separate pieces.
The shoulders are seamed together from WS (the only seam figuring).
The sleeves are worked top-down and in-the-round from picked-up sts along the armhole openings.
The neckline is worked in-the-round from picked-up sts.
The pattern
Skill level: intermediate - advanced.
The lace-pattern is charted, as well as written out (for working in the round and back and forth).
All measurements are given in cm’s as well as in inches.
