Forest Park Hat
Tucked in the West Hills of Portland, Oregon is the largest inner-city wooded park in America. Known as Forest Park, it’s miles upon miles of hiking and biking trails wind you through a wilderness just blocks from the bustle of downtown. My favorite trail takes you to the Pittock Mansion, a beautiful home on the top of the hill that offers spectacular views of the City, the Willamette River, and Mt. Hood (when the clouds
allow her to show her curves, anyways!). Being in the PacNW, and in the deep shadeof a heavily wooded grove, it gets a little chilly on those hikes. I wanted a hat that was light enough to wear in the spring and fall, but still warm enough to keep the nip off my ears. The mix of lacy openwork and an unusual rib makes for a hat that fits comfortably, brim folded or not. Finish with a button accent for a little somethin-somethin and you’ve got a hat appropriate for the whole year.
