ABOUT PATTERN

The Forest Sweater Junior is a children’s sweater with a circular colorwork yoke. The sweater is knit “top-down” with 20 cm of ease in the yoke and body for a comfortable fit. The design of the yoke is inspired by the forests of northern Norway.

CONSTRUCTION

The Forest Sweater Junior is worked from the top down and has a circular yoke. First the neck edge is worked, then the yoke is worked in the round in the charted colorwork pattern using 2 different colors. The increases in the yoke are done using M1L and M1R methods. Short rows are worked after the stranded pattern has been completed to raise the back and create a nice fit. After the yoke, the body and sleeves are separated with casting on stitches for underarms.
The body and sleeves are worked in the round in stockinette stitch and finished with a rib edge.
As the sweater is knitted top-down, you can decide on the length as you go.

The pattern comes in 13 sizes 1 (2, 3, 4) (5, 6, 7) (8, 9, 10) (11, 12, 13) with finished sweater bust circumference measuring 72 (76, 78, 80) (82, 84, 86) (88, 93, 96) (99, 102, 105) cm / 28 ¼ (30, 30 ¾, 31 ½) (32 ¼, 33, 33 ¾) (34 ¾, 36 ½, 37 ¾) (39, 40 ¼, 41 ¼) inches.

Positive ease: 20 cm \ 8 inches. Please note that these measurements are only achieved if the sweater is knitted in the correct gauge.
