Forest Veil is a light and airy extra long asymmetrical shawl. This design features a subtly curved shallow shape, jagged edge and decorative horizontal slots at the bind-off end.

It is designed for gradient yarn paired up with a solid or semi-solid yarn in a complementary or contrast colour. An allover eyelet stitch pattern, when worked in two colours, creates a different colour shading on each side of the shawl.

The shawl is knit sideways starting with a small number of cast-on stitches. It widens slightly from the cast-on end toward the bind-off end by working simultaneous increases at one edge and partial bind-offs spaced at certain intervals at the opposite edge of the fabric. The curve is achieved by naturally created tension of the edge stitches and knitting on the bias.
