CONSTRUCTION
These mitts are worked in the round from the bottom up. They start with a twisted rib, and the pattern is then worked from the chart or written instructions. Thumb stitches are made with simple increases and placed on scrap yarn whilst the palm of the mitt is finished. Thumb stitches are then picked up and the thumb completed.

Palm circumference 7 inches / 17.5 cm.
Length: 7¼ inches / 18 cm.
MATERIALS
Recommended Yarn
Miss Babs Killington 85% Polwarth Wool, 15% Tussah Silk, 350 yd / 4.2 oz (320 m / 120g) skeins. Shown in Patina.
Or 125 m / 138 yds of any DK weight yarn.
Best suited to a solid-coloured yarn.
Needles and Notions
3.0 mm (US 2½) for ribbing or 0.5 mm smaller than your main needles.
3.5 mm (US 4) or size required to obtain gauge.
BOR marker and 2 additional slipping markers.
Scrap yarn or stitch holder for thumb stitches.
Tapestry needle to sew in ends.
GAUGE
3.5 mm (US 4) needles 24 sts and 36 rounds to 4 inches / 10 cm in stockinette stitch (not pattern, where the gauge will be a little tighter), after washing and drying flat.
