I recently went on the search of a very specific pattern. I was looking for a cute, modern witch hat that was fitted, with a short but whimsical point. I found many patterns that were exactly what I was looking for… but they were all crochet.
So, naturally, I had to make one for knitters. After some experimentation, the “Forest Witch” was created. I hope you have as much fun with it as I did!

This hat is knit in the round from the brim to the point. Using worsted weight yarn held together and smaller needles, a thick fabric is created to help the hat stand up. Finally a craft wire is inserted into the cast on edge to help the brim hold its shape.
