Finished Size 7 1/2 (8 1/4, 9)“ foot circumference and 9 1/4 (10, 10 3/4)” long from back of heel to tip of toe. Socks shown measure 9”.
Yarn SweetGeorgia Yarns BFL Sock (80% superwash bluefaced leicester wool, 20% nylon; 400 yd 366 m/4 oz 115 g): sitka (MC), 1 skein. SweetGeorgia Yarns Silk Mist (60% fine kid mohair, 40% cultivated silk; 325 yd 297 m/0.88 oz 25 g): bison (CC), 1 skein.
Needles Size 1 1/2 (2.5 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers (m); removable m; spare double-pointed needle (dpn) in same size as main needles or smaller; tapestry needle.
Gauge 32 sts and 44 rnds = 4” in St st with MC; 31 sts and 43 rnds = 4” in St st with 1 strand each MC and CC held tog.
Try the basic Solefull construction method with these unisex Forester Socks. A strand of mohair is carried along for the soles, creating a cushy and warm pair that makes the most of handpainted yarns.
