This gorgeous project is worked top to bottom. The stitch number increases slightly when you’re finished with the facial ribbing. The number then stays consistent until you’ve worked 13 inches of the “Forget Me Not” pattern. At that point, the increases become dramatic as you produce the “Lacy Shoulder-Cowl”.

This pattern is designed for women, and because of the overall lace, I would say one size fits all.

The gauge information is given before blocking, and will change slightly if you choose to wet block. Be sure that you don’t stretch the facial ribbing too much when blocking as it is meant to hold the fabric next to your skin and keep the wind out.

Other than needles and yarn, I would suggest markers to help you to keep your pattern repeats on track. You might also want to use a rescue thread until you get into the rythym of your work.

As you work through the pattern, take special attention to the boxed in areas titled “NOTE:” These will give you special hints to make your knitting experience more enjoyable and “on track”.

Although the pattern shows the Arctic Qiviut version, I’m showing you the Sheepkids Lace version as a sample here. Yardage with the Sheepkids version would stay the same. It is a tad heavier garment than the Qiviut. Either will give you warm and stylish winter wear.
