Forgettable Socks
Errata for the Green sock on Think Outside the Sox book:
On page 5, for the Green Sock, in the Gussets paragraph, the first asterisk should be in the second line, between “Pink Sock.” and ”Next 2 rounds”. You should be working 2 plain knit rounds, then a decrease round with purls on the instep, then another round with purls on the instep but no decreases. These 4 rounds are repeated.
Semi circle heel.
Little green sock knitted on the same pattern, only cuff to the first purl stripe shorter and foot after the last purl stripe shorter.
Knitted with Lanett superwash, 100% merino ull.
About 20g / 80 m /one sock.

The text below is what i wrote about these socks when i´ve got an information, that these socks would be included to the upcoming book Think Outside the Sox in year 2010.
Forgettable socks, Pink and Green, # 229
Here in the north the main purpose of socks is to keep the feet warm.
These socks are a part of a collection one of the socks most important duties is to fit well. They are like a second skin, knit while studying the feet and ”listening”. That’s all that it takes. The cuff isn’t too tight, the heel fits well and stays put, the gusset follows the foot tightly in all positions.
These are humble and modest servants form The Land of Socky Simplicity!
The second sock has a knit 2, purl 2 ribbed cuff and it was a challenge to make the rib and the leg’s stretch pattern meet symmetrically. I really wanted to be precise.
It is also important that the yarn used for the socks is durable. This merino yarn wasn’t the best possible choice in that respect.
I wanted to try something new. It was a challenge to knit with a yarn this soft as it adapted almost to any gauge.
Still a couple of years ago I had no idea at all what kind of beauties the sock world is hiding. I admire and wonder, but at the end, I do feel more at home with this simple product made for use. On the other hand, it’s really wonderful to have sock for every taste!
