Forgotten Frost, or ‘Wasurejimo’ in Japanese is used as a kigo (a season word) in Haiku. Frosts left behind the winter are rarely seen in late spring when there is a sudden drop in temperature.

Forgotten Frost is a rectangle wrap, perfect for transitional weather, yet large enough to be warmly wrapped up in when it gets chilly or cold. It is worked flat from side to side, and has a built-in ruffle border edge. Its easy yet intriguing lace and texture stitches throughout the panel give delicacy and drape. Once you memorize the pattern repeat, it knits up quick. The lacy stitches keep you motivated while the simple stockinette stitches allow your mind to rest.

A 3 skein project is not a walk in the park, however the sense of accomplishment once completed is immeasurable. Pick up your favorite yarn and Forgotten Frost will be your lifetime accessory.

Yarn
3 skeins of Fingering Weight (1098m / 1200 yd)
Approx. 791m / 865yd (210g) is used for the panel, and 307m / 336yd (84g) for the border.

Needles
4mm (US 6) circular needles 60cm-80cm (24”-32”) long for the panel and 120cm (47”) or longer for the border are recommended.

Gauge
20 sts x 32 rows = 10cm (4”) in stockinette st after blocking.
Although the gauge is not so important for this project, your finished measurement may differ when your gauge varies.

Finished Measurements
173cm (68”) x 52cm (20”) after blocking.

「忘れ霜」（Forgotten Frost）は、晩春に突如寒くなるとあらわれる霜を指す季語です。

　Forgotten Frostは、長方形の大判ストールです。季節の変わり目に活躍できるようデザインされ、寒いときには首元をやさしく巻いて暖かくしてくれます。

　本体を往復編みしていき、最後にラッフルボーダーを編み足します。シンプルだけどワクワクする透かし模様と地模様のほどよい組み合わせは、優美なドレープを演出します。チャートを覚えると、早く編み進められるようになります。模様編みとメリヤス編みが交互にあしらわれ、目が離せない部分とリラックスできる部分でバランスよく構成されています。

　編み上げるにはちょっと根気のいる3カセのプロジェクトですが、完成した時の達成感はひとしおです。お気に入りの糸で一生ものの一枚をぜひ。
