This is the fourth pattern of my “Beyond the Fat Lady series” - inspired by the passwords in the Harry Potter stories.

Fortuna Major is the first password of The Prisoner of Azkaban. Harry and his friends are back at Hogwarts for a new year and start new classes – Divination and Care of Magical Creatures.

The main panel of the sock is a feather motif inspired by Buckbeak, the hippogriff Harry meets in his very first Care of Magical Creatures class. The side panels are tendrils of steam that rise from the cups of tea essential for tasseomancy or the reading of tea leaves.

Sizing can be adjusted by varying yarn weight and needles.

This pattern requires 1 skein of 100g Fingering Weight yarn (Approximately 350 yards) for 2 socks.
